The AP Stylebook, the most referenced stylebook among news organizations and those working in public relations, has updated its entry on ableism and other related terms.

The Stylebook has decided to define ableism as "discrimination or prejudice against people with disabilities; the belief that typical abilities — those of people who aren't disabled — are superior."
