Researchers say they have pinpointed the place in the brain where sign language is processed.

Scientists point to what is known as Broca's area in the left hemisphere; it is central for spoken languages but also crucial for sign languages. This is where the grammar and meaning are processed, regardless of whether it is spoken or signed language.
